I’ll admit that I am not going to be going to any fancy holiday or New Year’s Eve parties this year. Holly Baby and Ivy Baby have a no party policy that they enforce without exception. I don’t hold this policy against them, but because I thought your life might be more fun than mine, I decided to do a post with this lovely dress, which I think is a perfect holiday party dress.
When we shot these photos, this amazing dress was still available in blue. Sadly, this color is no longer available. However, you can still get it in black and pink and I think the black would be an excellent choice for any holiday parties you have to attend this year. The pink has more of a bridesmaid feel to it.
The dress is from Shabby Apple. It runs quite small – I’m wearing two sizes up from my usual size. The material is a synthetic taffeta, so it has a lovely sheen and the stiffness of the material means that the pleated skirt holds its shape quite well. The material has a tiny bit of stretch to it, but because it has a seam at the waist, it’s still not very forgiving in that area. The black and pink versions of this dress have slightly longer sleeves than the ones on my dress. The sleeves have a tiny puff and are finished with bows. If you’ve been following my blog, you may have started to pick up on my fondness for bows. This fondness is one of my father’s favorite things to tease me about, but I make no apologies!
I opted for black suede pointy toe heels, a matte satin clutch (see the lovely options in the carousel!), and my beloved black Kate Spade studs to complete the look.
I’d love to hear your thoughts and about all the fun things you’ll be doing this month in the comments! Until next time, and don’t forget to subscribe!
