I first saw this dress at a friend’s wedding. I felt a bit shy about asking a total stranger where it came from, so I let it pass me by with some regret. Imagine my excitement when I stumbled upon it during a trip to Nordstrom! I decided that I couldn’t let the fact that I didn’t need this dress stand in my way because it is so pretty and so reasonably priced. There are few things as wonderful as a practical and affordable dress that makes you feel pretty. This dress is amazing because it’s knit, the skirt is lined, it has pockets, I can breastfeed in it, it’s a gorgeous midi length, it’s flattering, fits true to size, and is under $50 in Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale!). The color is a bit less practical, but it does come in other colors (black, pink peach and brown buckthorn)!
These shoes are Corso Como’s Del and they are an excellent choice if you are looking for a nude pump. They come in wide widths, which is awesome. I’m wearing a 7 wide and I think they are just a smidge short. Normally I wear an 8. The toe shape is very flattering and the heel is high enough to look elegant and sophisticated without being absurd or impossible to walk in. Unsurprisingly, these are not comfortable to walk in, but otherwise they are fantastic and I wear them all the time. If you don’t have nude pumps, I highly recommend acquiring a pair. They go with almost everything and will make putting outfits together much easier.
I’m hoping to wear this outfit for a dinner date some time soon. Fingers crossed!
It took a couple of tries to get these pictures. The first time the sun was just too intense and there were severe shadows all over the place. Fortunately, we got some good shots the second time round (despite the thunderstorm earlier in the day!). We took these pictures at the Isabel Bader Theatre and in front of Emmanuel College.
