Fall weather is here in Toronto, so this week I’m sharing an outfit with my favorite red sweater. This outfit is perfect for everyday wear. It’s very comfortable, but has a lot of style and flare.
This sweater is from Lucky Brand Jeans. I love it and I wear it all the time. The color makes it feel cozy and perfect for fall. I also really like the length and the Aztec-inspired design is very on trend. The key to pulling this sweater off is wearing it with skinny or at least slim leg pants. You could opt for skinny jeans or black pants. Wearing skinny pants with an oversized or voluminous piece like this balances the outfit and prevents it from looking shapeless, like you’re wearing the wrong sizes, or like you’re trying to hide in baggy layers. Pieces like this are great because they make an outfit. The rest of what you wear can be very simple, and the outfit will still look very intentional and anything but boring. It runs true to size. If you’re feeling like it’s a touch bold, I’ve added some subtler options to the carousel above.
I’m wearing Gap’s Modern Crew Neck Tee in true black. It’s a good quality basic tee in a nice, thick fabric. It’s faded very little and has no pilling despite being 2 years old. It runs small in my experience – I’m wearing a large here.
The ankle boots are Clarks. They are no longer available, but I found some nice options from some other comfort brands so you can walk in comfort and style (hopefully with something pumpkiny or with a latte…or with a pumpkin latte in hand).
My jeans are Articles of Society. They are really great if you’re looking for an all-purpose good quality pair of skinny jeans. They are on sale at Nordstrom Rack for less than $40!
We shot these pictures at Hart House at the University of Toronto. It’s great living so close to the campus because there are so many beautiful places to shoot.
