How I Got Started
I started this blog in the hopes that I could turn it into a business. I want to work from home so that I can stay home with my children. The process of starting a blog had always been totally overwhelming to me, but my motivation propelled me forward. I stumbled across Natalie Bacon’s site and found her guide for starting a blog. Without Natalie, I doubt this blog would exist, so I’m very grateful to her.
I try to write what I know and produce the best work I can. My blog is a little over a month old now and while it’s a lot of work, I’m really proud of what I’ve done.
The first piece of advice I have for new bloggers is invest in your blog and create the most professional and polished product you can. Remember that there are lots of professional bloggers out there and the bar is set pretty high. If you think of your blog as a business, the startup cost is relatively low, so invest in yourself and the blog.
The second piece of advice I have is not to get discouraged. Most blogs don’t last very long, so give yourself a pat on the back every time you reach a milestone. It takes a while to get a blog off the ground, so just keep pushing. It’s also important to remember that you will get better at blogging the longer you do it. There’s always room for improvement and it will come with time and effort.
This list includes several excellent blogs and I really encourage you to check them out.
Thanks for reading! I hope you’ve found some new blogs to follow. Don’t forget to subscribe to stay up to date!
